Deposit Insurance

The Bancorp Bank, N.A. is a member of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC).

The FDIC is an independent agency of the United States government that protects you against the loss of your deposits if an FDIC-insured bank or savings association fails. FDIC insurance is backed by the full faith and credit of the United States government.

Insurance Limit Amounts

The standard insurance amount is $250,000 per depositor, per insured bank for each account ownership category.

FDIC insurance covers all deposit accounts, including:

  • Checking accounts
  • Negotiable Order of Withdrawal (NOW) accounts
  • Savings accounts
  • Money market deposit accounts (MMDA)
  • Time deposits such as certificates of deposit (CDs)

 

Deposits maintained in different categories of legal ownership may be separately insured.  Some of the covered ownership categories include:

  • Single Accounts
  • Joint Accounts
  • Revocable Trust Accounts
  • Irrevocable Trust Accounts
  • Certain Retirement Accounts
  • Corporation/Partnership/Unincorporated Association Accounts
