Job Scam Alert (1/20/2011)

The Bancorp Bank has become aware of someone falsely representing it as a recruiter seeking candidates for work-from-home positions. The scheme may involve identity theft, as the person being “recruited” is being asked to complete paperwork, which may include requests for personal and/or account information, and submit it to the “recruiter.”

We have also been advised that the person(s) falsely posing as a recruiter is conducting interviews through instant messaging services. Please be aware that The Bancorp, Inc. and The Bancorp Bank never conduct interviews through an instant messaging service or require that the major means of communication be through such a service.

In addition, we do not ask applicants to provide personal bank account information for payroll direct deposit before they have accepted a formal offer of employment. We also do not ask applicants or employees to accept an advance of funds to purchase equipment or supplies with a requirement that the unused funds be returned.

If you are interested in applying for a position with The Bancorp, Inc. or The Bancorp Bank that has been advertised on a third-party Web site (or elsewhere), please confirm that it is a legitimate position and apply directly with us by visiting our Web site (www.thebancorpbank.com) and navigating to “About Us > Career Opportunities,” where we post all of our available job openings. Please type our URL into your browser; do not follow a link provided in an online advertisement.

If you should be contacted directly by a recruiter stating that he/she is from The Bancorp, Inc. or The Bancorp Bank and are in any way suspicious of the solicitation, please confirm that we have engaged the recruiter to fill a valid job opening by contacting our Human Resources Department at recruiter@thebancorp.com.
